Using Online Tools in the Primary Classroom (online)

In this course, you will be introduced to digital tools that you can use to create classroom-focused resources. You will also be shown websites that contain resources for teaching skills in literacy, numeracy, SEN and STEM education.You will be shown how to use online tools to create a short instructional video and to promote different skills and activities in your classroom.

PrerequisitesBasic ICT skills. Participants should have experience of carrying out basic ICT tasks (opening, editing, saving, closing files) and be proficient in using an Internet browser.

Technical Requirements: A good broadband internet connection and a laptop, desktop pc or tablet (with the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari installed).

  • Use Explain Everything to create short instructional videos
  • Explain how you can use blogging tools in class to enhance teaching and learning
  • Use Padlet to share resources such as images, text, and audio
  • Describe activities using Padlet that you use to teaching skills in literacy, numeracy, SEN and STEM education.

  • A demonstration of how to use Explain Everything to create instructional video clips
  • A video exemplar highlighting how a primary teacher used Explain Everything for assessment in maths
  • Sample activities using Explain Everything to enhance your teaching of literacy, numeracy and STEM, and to use with pupils who have special educational needs.
